GRP is the abbreviation for Glass Reinforced Plastic which is in simple terms a form of fibreglass that is extremely hard-wearing and weather resistant. This material is used on modern flat roofs in place of the old felt roofing that used to be commonplace.
Felt roofs or the BUR type of flat roofing we discussed above is very much outdated and not recommended as a modern system. However rubber roofing is still an excellent resilient solution for larger buildings such as factories or comemrcial premises.
The cost of a GRP roof can vary depending on the size of the job, the material quality you select *(not all GRPs are the same quality) and the layout of the building / complexity of the work. The materials can be costed at between £100-150 per square metre usually. A bespoke quote is needed for each job given the above factors and at Nolan Roofing we can offer you a free quote & roof inspection
We serve Harrogate, Wetherby, Ripon, Knaresborough, York, and North Leeds.
Most standard GRP roof projects take between 2 to 3 days, depending on the size and complexity of the job and of course the British weather.
